From Rovaniemi to Sodankylä...(Lapland two)

I took a bus to Sodankylä after a few hours' walk in Rovaniemi. It was a really cold day, hard to stay outside more than 1 hour. At bus stop, I met a bit drunk Sodankylälainen who was really friendly and helped with my bags, and later on the bus, he asked "Voinko soita sulle joskus?":) Wow, it is the first time I met a Finnish who asked me if he can call me after half an hour talk. Perhaps he is drunk, perhaps I am exotic enough, far from Asia visiting his small town in the middle of chilly winter. This is also I often discuss with my friends, how I feel the differences about different nationalities on my own experiences. In 2 years, when I sit in a coffee anywhere in Finland, no one will come to talk to me, maybe I look boring to Finns:( Haha who knows?
however, when I travel in Spain and Italy, there are always people come and talk and ask why you are here and lalala, curious:) There might be somewhat differences. Ye, also they make jokes and make the atmosphere friendly and relaxing right away. For me, Finns (sorry, no offence, just my thoughts about different cultures, nothing personal) are not so good at humors or making jokes, but I do have some friends, really interesting and humorous. I mean general feelings. Well well, time to say something about my Lappi trip.
The reason I went to Sodankylä is that I found a friend from Couchsurfing, and we made a plan to drive to Ylläs for skiing or meeting his friends. Even though we didnot go there in the end, but I luckily met his gf and visited her huskies and a reindeer farm, made my trip more fascinating.
                   Hmmm, about 45cm?

                            A beatiful morning!
The red Canadian jacket can tolerate -40 Celsius degrees.
I was leaving for snowboarding, ye:)
Here, I did snowboarding for 8 hours alone, was lots of fun falling on the soft, white snow:) I loved it. It was my third time of doing one of the most tricky sports for myself:)

My new friend's huskies, cute creatures:)

  3. Oh! Too much snow (I personally hate snow and winter)... That story of yours reminded me of a young lady from an ultra-small town in the Canadian Rockies. Despite my awful accent, she refused to believe I came all the way from Brazil to her cozy store to buy hand-made chocolate... =)

  9. Yes, so are things. He sent me an SMS on my phone, he was asking if the snows will come in Sodankylä because there is only a few centimetres in the streets. Last year, the weather was much cold than this year.

    Regards ;-)
