Today is not a happy day after all!

Today we finally get final answer from the project funding application, and it was not so promising. It was one of the most exiciting thing happened in my whole time in Finland that I was named as a project coodinator for an Eco-city project. The project is to organize Finnish companies to attend the 6th PECC International Trade & Investment and Int’l Eco-City Construction Fair (ITIF) in Tianjin, China, this October. It is so exciting for me to attend this Fair and see how the environment technologies are developing and involving in eco-city constructions. This Eco-city is being built in Tianjin, might be a model in ecological sense for the rest of the world, if it works as it has been planned and if it really invites the top technologies around the world with fair competitions. Sometimes it is not easy to connect the reality with the ideal plan if the social system is rather complex.

But I am still very interested in this master plan, willing to participate and learn to make a better world:) Ok, here is the main point of this unhappy day that we are from the public community and the funding organization does not support us but private companies. So we, AMK, are out of game. :( But I still hope to have chances to be invited by some companies, let's see what luck brings me.

Here are more information in Finnish, suomeksi.

Good news for today is that I successfully registered in online system for French language course this morning at 10:04, which is my first time to understand and use the whole system in Finnish on my own. The online system for registration is open at sharp 10am and in 4 minutes one group of 30 people is full, which means that if you are 31st person to register, you have no choice to join in the class- sorry, brutal truth! I received a notice from the teacher after 1 hour that I could not join in group A and had a chance for group B, still I am lucky, because language courses are free for university students and all are very popular, very hard to get a seat to sit in class.

It took me 2 years to know how this system works. Haha, I am not so smart after all:( First year in Finland, I needed to learn Finnish first, and then consider other languages, which are all taught in Finnish, of course. And the second year, I have already jumped to Denmark for an exchange study(another interesting story to tell one day), and when I came back from there, had to recover from the hardest time in my personal life. So the whole language study dream started from today finally, using the last schooling year of chances to go. Good luck for myself! "Never too late to study"=self-comfort! Unfortunately, Russian language groups are full and I am on the waiting list:( See if I could improve my Russian from "привет, спасибо, хорошо, пока" level.:)

This autumn will be one of the busiest time in life so far, see how I manage.
If you are a foreign student in Finland or Turku:), feel free to ask me questions, I am willing to tell you my experiences. Cheers!
